RE:IGNITION To Play Tsunami Benefit Concert This Weekend
January 25, 2005RE:IGNITION, the new band featuring SKINLAB members Steev Esquivel and Snake, will perform at a fundraising concert for victims of the Asian tsunami disaster on Saturday, January 29 at Blakes on Telegraph in Berkeley, California. Also appearing on the bill will be East Bay bands KAOS, FUZZPLOW, ZEITGEIST and LOWKI.
The tsunami disaster, which has taken more than 200,000 lives, has also destroyed the economy in Southeast Asia, leaving survivors in a critical situation. The goal of the concert's organizers, Powerslave.com, is to make this show as successful as possible and donate all proceeds from ticket sales and t-shirt and CD sales to the Red Cross.
"This is one of the worst natural disasters of our generation," says Hide Maeda, General Manager of Powerslave.com. "By hosting the benefit concert, Powerslave hopes to do its part in helping the survivors recover," he adds.
This show marks the third charity show Powerslave has produced in the last year. Powerslave sponsored a 9/11 tribute show last September to benefit the NY Police & Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund and also sponsored the live performance at the San Jose Aids Walk last October.
Powerslave's Tsunami Benefit starts at 8pm and admission is $10. Fans in attendance will receive free premium Powerslave merchandise.
